AHMEDABAD: Patients in Gujarat can now get online appointment in government-run hospitals.
The state's health minister Shankar Chaudhary launched the 'Online Appointment Software', which will enable patients to secure appointments online without waiting in long queues at hospitals.
Once a patient's online appointment gets confirmed, he or she will receive an auto system generated SMS.
The patient can then pay a visit to the OPD with that SMS and pay a nominal amount of Rs 5 for the diagnosis.
The new system will be introduced in every government-run hospitals in the state. It is expected to shorten the long queues of patients in government hospitals.
Pankaj Kumar, Principal Secretary-Medical Service and Medical Education, said that the project was launched with an aim to provide relief to educated and tech-savvy patients.
